Please note that a date has been set for this year’s Clubs Annual General Meeting. This is a vitally important meeting for the Club as a quorum is required to vote in the Management Committee. A General Meeting will follow the AGM where members can discuss any relevant issues.

If you wish to nominate for a position please fill in the attached AGM Nomination Form  and  return it to the Secretary, Damien McFarline by the 25th of February.

1. Renew you licence for 2012 (required to race New Years Day) and
2. Change your user name and password to something you will not forget.

We recommend you do both these things.

Consequently, the current outfit, of which the Club is holding more than adequate stock needs to be run out to sufficient stock levels to allow a change in outfit.

To allow this to occur, the Club warrants that the current outfit will remain as authorised Club kit that can be worn in Open Events until the end of 2013. And, the price of the kit is to be significantly reduced to accelerate the sales and allow it to be purchased for training as well as racing.

For the first time Cycling Australia will be responsible for processing all memberships directly, with Cycling Queensland having no role to play. CA will now control its database using a system called IMG Sports Technology. This is the same system used by the NRL, AFL, Swimming Australia and a number of other national sporting bodies.

Although many of the changes will be behind the scenes there are some important ones that will effect you:

1. As a current member, CA will send you an automatically generated username and password at the beginning of October. This will allow you to enter the IMG System, renew your membership and at any time alter your personal details.
2. As the Secretary I will have access to the data and therefore the Club will no longer generate its own membership list. Any personal information changes you make will be instantly updated on the system.
3. There is a new membership structure for 2012 including Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze memberships as well as small changes to the Ride It licence categories. Most members will be Gold members – more details to come.
4. All current members and any new members will apply for their memberships online. There will be no manual (paper) membership renewals except in extreme circumstances. This will be advantageous for you because this year it will be CHEAPER to apply online and it will be FASTER. The Club plans to have a computer with internet access at races to assist those members who have trouble getting online.
5. There are minor changes to Transfers as CA will now manage the process.

So, from 1st October at both Pimpama and Arundel, adult riders and juniors in B Grade will pay $15.00 to race. Juniors in Grade (D and C) will pay $10.00. Juniors in Junior grade and E Grade will avoid the Levy and will continue to pay $5.00. Family entries will be capped at a total of $40.00 including surcharge.

The results of our Facebook survey regarding either increasing entry fees at Pimpama and Arundel or just racing on off-road courses like Nerang or Runaway Bay were 47 votes – 44 voted to pay more to maintain the road courses with increased costs being passed on in entry fees. Of the 3 people who voted to only race Nerang or Runaway Bay, 2 of those people are not members of either Goldstars or CATS.

Goldstars wish to thank all who expressed their opinon to allow the Club executive to make a decision on this issue to take effect from 1st October.
